The Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine was founded in September, 1565, making it the oldest parish in the US and Canada. It sits in the center of historic St. Augustine, America’s oldest city. It underwent major renovation on its 400th anniversary in 1965 but still retains the authentic flavor of the Spanish Franciscans who founded the parish.

Shot on the Patio of the Cherokee Cottage in the Historic District on Jekyll Island, GA. Many people are not aware of the beauty of Jekyll Island and the other Sea Islands of Coastal Georgia. Jekyll Island was a playground for some of the wealthiest families of the early 20th century and the Cottages built by these families were later preserved as an Historic District. It is a piece of living history and definitely worth a stop on your way down I95.
Shot with Lumix LX-3. Processed with Nik Color EFX Pro, Topaz Detail and Leslie Nicole’s French Kiss Textures.
Vintage treatment of a recent photo of the Breakwater Hotel on Ocean Drive in South Beach using Kim Klassen’s Simplicity Texture in three different blending modes. Was supposed to be for Texture Tuesday, but better late than never!
